Introduction
The critical role in the photovoltaic system is the "inverter,” which converts direct current into alternating current. The inverter is used in the photovoltaic system to match batteries and meters to achieve the same voltage, frequency, and phase output as the power grid.
A solar energy service provider from Southeast Asia said that the current problem is the operational inefficiency of the inverter. When the battery power drops below the value, it shuts down the inverter; the battery voltage rises rapidly, the power comes back. The power off, power on repeatedly will lead to work inefficiently. Therefore, customers hope to obtain data from inverters remotely to maintain the system anytime and anywhere.
Cermate Solution
Cermate recommends that customers use the ES21-1S1A02 protocol gateway to connect batteries and inverters. The ES21-1S1A02 is a newly developed protocol gateway with a built-in serial port interface. It can connect to solar controllers, batteries, and inverters to collect data from Modbus to PC within milliseconds and archive historical data
In addition, clients also can install HMI in Hand (HiH) on a handheld device. It can visualize the filed data from the inverters for the users to edit the parameters. When any abnormal status happens (rapid decline and rise), the users will immediately receive the alarms. Conveniently, customers can use mobile phones, tablets, and other mobile devices to remotely monitor the on-site inverters’ status to help adjust the situation.
